Important Tips No One Tells You About Pregnancy and Postpartum—Shared by Real Parents
We asked and you answered! 🗣️
Here at Freya Movement we aim to build a community of pregnant people and folks who recently gave birth because we know that this time of your life can feel isolating. One of our favorite things is when we see class attendees sharing their experiences, favorite resources and products, and life hacks that have helped them in their own pregnant and postpartum journey.

Because we don’t believe in gatekeeping and know that so many of the medical and wellness details women experience can be seen as taboo, we recently asked our community on Instagram for a few of their pregnancy/postpartum tips 💬
"What is something you didn't know about pregnancy/postpartum that you wish you had known before you went through is but nobody talks about?"
Here were some of our favorite answers:
"Taking magnesium helped me so much with my insomnia!"
"There's a B6 prescription that really helps with morning sickness more so than an over-the-counter B6 vitamin."
I wish I had known this before I was postpartum, but no one talks about it!:
"Postpartum sweats and BO"

"Take the stool softeners and the laxatives! Also stay on top of your pain meds! Your brain is in a million places postpartum and it's easy to forget to take your meds. I ended up setting alarms to remind me to take my pain meds."
"I wish I had known that almost everything that happens is normal, but if something doesn't SEEM normal, there is no shame in asking about it or asking for help! I had a pelvic floor issue that I ignored for too long thinking it would get better, and it only did with PT!"
"Night sweats. And more generally, I never got a good understanding of the totality of the physical, hormonal, emotional etc. changes that happen in the postpartum period. Heard a lot of recovery is slow/a process, it takes 9 months to heal, etc. but no real good information about what the eff is happening during that phase."
We hope this helps you feel less alone in your experiences. Pregnancy and postpartum is miraculous and overwhelming, but please know you have a community you can lean on here at Freya Movement.
