Finding Beauty and Intuition When Trying To Conceive

Last week, I attended a gathering within my new fledgling community. The theme was ‘Surrounding Yourself with Beauty’. This evening involved sharing poetry, sipping wine and eating chocolate. There was space to read something aloud if you wanted to share, and also space to sit quietly absorbing the energy of the others in the room while eating chocolate or sipping wine. Perfect for my introverted self. Poetry is something I connected to so strongly as a child, but in recent years not so much. Perhaps, I felt like the stakes became too high and that by reading poetry I had to also interpret what a poem's underlying meaning was. Whatever the reason, it felt so lovely to be among poems again; to simply sit and flip through poetry books and soak in all the beauty.

The reason I feel compelled to share this story is that this experience gave me a pathway to a new way to connect to my intuition. Through ease, relaxation and beauty. I could sit and wait for the beauty to stir me, knowing full well that it might not strike this time around… but it was still beautiful and warm.

My partner and I are trying to conceive and this feels like an emotional rollercoaster to say the least. I am sure many of you in our Freya community can relate to some degree. The information available to us right now is incredible, but it is also overwhelming. It feels easy to lose sight of the beauty. As I immersed myself in the ambiance of the gathering, I couldn't help but reflect on how this experience resonated with my journey towards parenthood. Parenthood (no matter where you are on that road) is a truly profound transformation. Let us remember to trust in our intuition, to honor the wisdom of our bodies, and to find beauty whenever we can. Engaging in activities that bring us joy, whether it's reading poetry, spending time in nature, or indulging in creative pursuits, can quiet the noise of the mind and allow our intuition to speak louder.

Here’s to following the little ‘yes’ and taking lots of deep breaths.
